3. Cookies and Social Plug-ins

We use cookies and social plug-ins on some of our websites that may process your personal data.
In particular, we use the following cookies on our website:

3.1 Google Analytics

Our websites may use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies to analyze how a website is used by visitors. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is transmitted to Google and stored on servers in the USA.
IP anonymization is activated on this website. This means that your IP address will be reduced within the area of the member states of the European Union and other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the complete IP address first transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.

On our behalf, Google uses this information to evaluate how our websites are used by you, generates reports on activity on the websites and provides us with other services relating to the websites and Internet use.

The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not linked to other data collected by Google. With the appropriate settings in your browser you can prevent the use of cookies. Please note, however, that you may not have the full functionality of our websites at your disposal. You can also opt-out of tracking by Google Analytics by downloading and installing the “Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on” for your current web browser, available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

3.2 Use of Social Plug-ins

We can use social plug-ins from various social network operators such as Twitter, Facebook and Google+ on our websites. When you click the button of such a plug-in, your browser connects to the server of that network provider. The functions of the plug-in are not activated directly by visiting our website, but only when you click on the corresponding button.
If you click one of these buttons when you visit our website and are logged in to your account on that social network at the same time, the operator of that network will be informed that you have visited our website. The social network operator can store this information and link it to your profile. If you do not wish to do so, you must log out of your account before clicking the relevant button.
Please refer to the privacy policy of the respective social network operator to find out for what purposes and to what extent data is collected and how this data is used, as well as the rights and settings that are available to you to protect your privacy.

We use cookies in our online courses to store learning progress, exam results and other data during individual sessions.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year.
