VISIT TO CHINCHERO
The surprises continued….
We had planned to visit the amazing, much loved Sunday Market in the village of Chinchero today. But when we stopped at the bank to change money on the way there, my phone suddenly rang. It was a friend of ours from Chinchero who sold her weavings at the Chinchero Market. I had sent her a message yesterday to tell her that we would be coming today with our whole group.
The first thing she told me is that the Chinchero Sunday Market was closed because of bad weather! And here we were, crammed into one bus and one car on the way to Chinchero!!
WHAT TO DO?
I asked my friend if anything was open there and she replied that a few things would be open, but the entire market area was closed.
Emanaku and I sat quietly in our car for a few minutes wondering what to do? Then we decided that since Chinchero is such a special place, we would go there anyway.
After all, Chinchero is the birthplace of the rainbow!
MORE TO COME!
-
My friend from Chinchero was right, The market was totally closed – but not for bad weather – it was for renovation. However, some market people were set up on the ground in random locations.

It felt strange to be here and not be able to walk.

Jesus always has a great selection of pututus and other musical instruments, as well as magical magnetic rocks.
