TAKING FOOD TO LAGUNA QORICOCHA
Many remote villages in Peru are hard hit by the quarantine and by having no possibilities to sell weavings or services to tourists.
Inca Sisters and Brothers United tries to find the “forgotten” people and bring food and some joy to them.
The visit at Laguna Qoricocha was the first time, we were involved in such a mission with them.

- On August 28, Emanáku made a trip to Laguna Qoricocha ~ the sacred lake of RA to deliver food to the people there.

Danny Quispe of Inka Sisters and Brothers United organized the food. This dedicated group has been raising funds and delivering food to many of the remote Andean communities during our six months of quarantine.
Here is Danny, Javier Paucar of the village of Qqenqo and Emanaku of the Heart of AN!

- The villagers were very happy to receive their food baskets. Since few people have been able to work since Peru’s quarantine began in mid March, many people have been suffering greatly.

- he children were happy to receive a simple toy such as a jump rope or bubble maker.

- Since there is no internet in their village, they have been unable to attend any school this year.

- At first, Emanaku thought that this llama had lots of crias, but on closer look, they turned out to be sheep.

- Lots of alpacas and llamas graze up here at 4,000 meters.

- Emanaku decided to descend the mountain on a small, winding dirt road we had never taken before. This led to Laguna Piuray ~ the sacred lake of AN.

- Here, he had to take a detour which led him above this sacred lake.

On his way back to the Heart of AN, Emanaku passed by Laguna Huaypo ~ the sacred lake of EL.
For some reason, it felt very important that he was able to visit in one day all three of the sacred lakes of EL•AN•RA in the order of RA•AN•EL. We have never been to all of the three sacred lakes that correspond with the three stars in the Belt of Orion in one day before.
